The Egyptian government launched its ambitious national initiative for comprehensive digital transformation of government services, integrating multiple ministries and government agencies into a cohesive digital project aimed at digitizing no less than ninety-five percent of services provided to citizens through advanced, user-friendly electronic platforms by 2028.

The initiative includes creating a unified digital government platform known as “Digital Egypt 2.0,” bringing together under one roof more than one thousand government services from various ministries and agencies, while adopting artificial intelligence technologies to accelerate request processing, reduce waiting times, improve user experience, and personalize it according to each citizen’s needs.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology confirmed that the initiative’s structure rests on three integrated pillars: providing digital infrastructure in remote areas to ensure digital inclusion, training government staff on using new systems, and raising citizens’ awareness of available digital services.

The project includes a budget estimated at twenty billion Egyptian pounds over three years and will contribute to saving up to four billion pounds annually in administrative expenditure, in addition to the enormous gains of reducing corruption, enhancing transparency, and raising Egypt’s competitiveness in global digital transformation indicators.
